The trick to staying smart this winter is to layer up. Ladies and gents, keep the signature pieces locked and add the layers, it’s our top winter tip...
It’s the classic move for us Londoners; one minute you’re freezing your fingers off on Blackheath common, the next you’re sweating silly on the 177 bus to Peckham. Layering is always the answer and if you swing by the store over the next couple of months; you’ll notice we’re fully prepped to keep you layered up.
Layering is ideal for keeping your favourite pieces front and centre, we’ve got some seriously fresh pieces in our autumn / winter collection and with the weather being so unpredictable, the best way to make the most of a new coat, shirt and undershirt is to wear them all.
Here’s some of our faves and a few ways that we like to wear them.
We’ve got the classic Camel Pea Coat from La Paz, layered up with the Angus Felt overshirt from Kings of Indigo and finished with the seriously warm Penouco Gilet from La Paz. The Camel Pea Coat just bosses true British style, with it’s satin lining, inside pockets and embossed buttons, this Pea is one of our sharpest looks this winter.
We’re also packing the toned down Lightweight Macintosh from Paul Smith, a classically cut piece for this transitional time of year which has all the premium detailing and quality we’ve learnt to expect from Sir Paul. Layered underneath, we've got a double dose of Norse projects in the form of the Anton flannel check shirt underneath the Vagn zip hoodie.
We’re keeping it on trend here with this gorgeous Heros woolen coat from London-based YMC in a cute baby-blue colourway; pastels are still doing it for us in a big way. We’re layering this piece with the Paint Splash Tee from Paul Smith underneath the Kings of Indigo Farzin weave lightweight jacket. The look is finished with the Cocoon Trouser from YMC and our Burgundy Trigenics from British legends, Clarks.
We want to keep you looking hot this season, despite the chills. Layering will always be our go to because there’s so many signature pieces to show off and thanks to the premium wools and cottons of our winter collection, you’ll stay snug.
Winter doesn’t have to mean shapeless coats or hiking gear for fear of the cold, layer up to stay toasty.
Our brilliant staff will be on hand all winter to give you a hand with your layers, drop by the store and send any questions their way.
Much Love, The Meet Bernard Family x
